Each 20' FCL holds 25-27 MT net weight, which translates to 500-540 bags of 50 kg PP woven, the dominant SKU for African and CIS commodity routes. Minimum packaging is 5 kg. Inner poly liner is included on 5 and 10 kg retail packs and is available at extra cost on 25 and 50 kg bulk bags.
These rules are non-negotiable. They reflect how IRRI-6 actually moves through Karachi (KICT, PICT, QICT) and how mills, surveyors, and shipping lines have priced and routed Pakistani long grain since the trade matured.

IRRI-6 is Pakistan's most exported non-basmati long-grain rice. The variety descends from the IRRI breeding program (sister to India's IR64). It grows in Sindh province with a 6.0mm raw grain length, mild aroma, and is available in five broken percentages from 5% (premium) to 100% (staple food grade), plus brown and parboiled processing types.
FOB Karachi ranges from $315/MT (100% broken) to $380/MT (5% broken white) and $360-$380/MT for parboiled. Prices are indicative and update daily on the /prices/ page. Confirmed quotes are issued by the export desk and valid 48 hours.
5 x 20' FCL (~135 metric tons) for any IRRI-6 grade. Mixed grades are possible within a single FCL. Each 20' container holds 25-27 MT in 50 kg PP bags (500-540 bags per container). Private-label minimum is 10 x 20' FCL.
100% broken rice is a staple food across West Africa — Mauritania, Sierra Leone, Gambia, Senegal, and Guinea. Buyers prefer it for porridge, rice flour, traditional dishes, and brewing. It is not animal feed and not a by-product. It is a deliberately produced commodity with specific buyer demand.
IRRI-6 parboiled rice ($360-$380/MT FOB Karachi) ships to Ghana, Ivory Coast, and other West African markets where parboiled is the consumer preference. Hardened grain, longer shelf life in humid storage, and golden color suit local cooking traditions.
Only 20' FCL (Full Container Load). Each 20' container carries 25-27 MT depending on packaging. We do not load 40' containers for IRRI-6.
